Municipal services have long become very habitual things and we rarely think how much work is involved in maintenance of utilities’ continuous operations. Only those who are closely connected with provision of comfortable living conditions to the citizens, functioning of commercial industries, schools and hospitals can estimate hard daily work of Yaroslavlvodokanal workers. Laying of a sewer, timely remedial actions, even control over stable operations of the functions in all the districts in the City require not only physical, but moral inputs as well. It’s a well-known fact that this sector requires good coordination and organization, fortitude and self-control in emergencies from the workers involved in the sector.

Fishing
On Saturday, March 13, 2010 took place fishing outing contest. The Solonitsa River bank in Nekrasovsky area gathered quite a number of amateur fishermen, although judging upon the equipment, there came some professionals too. Due to the bright spring sun that was inspiring the contestants the whole day, the fishing was a great fun.
All day long the contestants shared experience, told stories about their “deeds” and discussed the explored places.The “old soldiers” had a variety of baits, their resorts and tricks of many years brought about good results in the form of considerable catch. We mustn’t forget about the supporters either, who came to support their friends and relatives. Everybody got excited, and the time just flew.
After such a busy day everybody was welcomed to the guest house in Malye Soli, where the successful contestants were awarded prizes and letters of honour.

Venue – Northern Water Treatment Plant of Yaroslavlvodokanal. At the meeting took part as follows: Sergey Kruglik, Deputy Minister for Regional Development, Valery Leshchenko, Yaroslavlvodokanal General Director, as well as City and Oblast executives: Sergey Vakhrukov, Yaroslavl Oblast Governor, Victor Volonchunas, Yaroslavl City Mayor, Vladimir Sleptsov, Deputy Mayor for Municipal Economy and Vladimir Smirnov, Deputy Mayor for Urban Development.
Sergey Kruglik familiarized himself with the company as a whole, the outputs of the investment project which was co-financed with the proceeds of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, introduction of the new technologies of monitoring and control of production processes – SCADA system, and had a site visit to the upgraded facilities.
The participants discussed the issues of raising investments into the Russian municipal sector, perspective development of the water company and achievement of the utility’s goals in the services quality improvement.

The sacred award
This year winter has been fully reigning on the territory of Russia. It has been long since the frosty spell dominated for such a long time. The Epiphany holiday is over, the cold weather remains unchanged, though. In spite of the frost, a great number of believers gathered for the festive sacred procession. The most audacious and strong washed away their sins in the ice-hole, others could collect blessed water. So many people had come to churches that some smaller ones could not even place all the believers and lacked resources.
To contribute to the Epiphany holiday arrangements the Yaroslavlvodokanal officials took a decision to provide charity support. The company provided the church of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin in Tunoshna settlement with water to be then blessed and given out to the parishioners. To the Endless Joy Chapel at the St. Tikhvin Church in Dzerzhinsky District of Yaroslavl water carrier transported water nine times.
The white walled beauty on the left bank of the Volga – St. Presentation Tolga Nunnery regularly appears on the charity list of the company. Yaroslavlvodokanal allocated funds to cover their urgent maintenance expenditures. Hegumeness Varvara has visited Yaroslavlvodokanal many times to show her care about the employees’ needs. Some of the offices in the Yaroslavlvodokanal administration building were blessed.
The Yaroslavlvodokanal collective in the person of Valery Leshchenko was given a medal of Labours in Honour of Mother Church on the Yaroslavl Land for their response and timely aid.
